The US has more universities, and more flexibility in what you study, than any other destination. It is also the most demanding to apply to, so the planning starts early.

- Main intakes
- Fall, starting in August or September. A smaller spring intake starts in January.
- Course length
- Bachelor's 4 years. Master's 1 to 2 years.
- Work while studying
- On campus, up to 20 hours a week during term.
- After you graduate
- Optional Practical Training: up to 12 months of work in your field, with 24 more months for eligible STEM degrees.
- Funds you must show
- The first year's fees and living costs, as stated on your university's I-20 form.
